Wexford’s cross country season kicks off this weekend

Wexford’s cross country season commences this weekend with the Mr Oil Wexford Juvenile (even ages), u18, u19 and Junior Championship races. The course is at Orristown, Killinick and DMP AC is the host club.


The programme starts at 12 noon with the under 10 girls and boys (non-championship) races, followed by under 12, 14, 16 races and finishing with 4000m for u18, u19 and Juniors girls, and 6000m of u18, u19 and junior men. Both of the latter, as in the 4000m and 6000m races, will be run off as combined races. The distances for the younger age groups are: under 12 – 2000m, u14 – 3000m, u16 – 4000m. And as has been the case heretofore, athletes are permitted to move up an age to compete.


Entry 3 euro. Pre-registration is not required. One rep. from each club to collect numbers.
Covid19 forms to be completed and handed in on entry to the grounds by all attending.
Each club to provide at least 1 helper.

Mr Oil Wexford Intermediate and Uneven Age Championships


The same course will be used the following weekend October 10th for the Mr Oil Wexford Intermediate Men & Women’s Championships followed by uneven age juvenile races – under 11(1500m), u13(2500m), u15(3500m), u17(G4000m, B 5000M). The host club is again DMP.
Please note Covid restrictions still apply, so athletes are asked to leave the venue directly after completing a race. Anyone feeling unwell should not attend.
