It has been a good Summer on the international front for our Masters athletes. Jackie Carthy of Kilmore AC won a gold medal at the European Masters Athletics Championships in Aarhus, Denmark. Jackie won the W45 category in cross-country, finishing second overall in the W35-50 race just four seconds behind overall winner Christina Artuso of Italy (W35). Niall Sheil of St Killan’s AC placed 7th (M40) in his cross-country race. Anne Gilshinan also had success at the European Masters winning a Silver medal in the 1500m.
