Jack makes Irish Schools team

All-Ireland Schools Combined Events

St Killian’s athlete Jack Forde, competing in the colours of CBS Wexford, did school and club proud when he placed 4th at the Irish Life Health All-Ireland Schools Combined Events in Athlone. He now goes on to represent Ireland at a Schools’ international event in Glasgow later in the month.

Dannan Long of FCJ Bunclody competed in the Minor boys event. The Enniscorthy AC athlete had a great debut in the competition, especially in long jump where he had a best jump of 5.62m. His school-mate Orlaith Deegan (SBR AC) put in a fine performance in Junior Girls, her highlights including a massive 1.55m in high jump and an equally impressive 2:28 in 800m. Finally Eimear Halpin (Menapians) representing Loreto Wexford in Inter Girls, competed well in a tough competition and got a credible 2105 points. She still has another year at this level. Well done to al four athletes.
