Details attached regarding Saturday's All-Ireland Cross Country in Navan.
Forecast is not great. Athletes should bring water-proof gear and wellies as well as spare sets of everything - runners, socks, hats, gloves, etc. Have plastic bags to keep gear dry beforehand and for storing your messy gear afterwards. Keep a long sleeve top on you (one you don't mind losing) for as long as possible at the start line - you may be hanging about long enough to get cold. If you cannot give it to a minder before the race just chuck it behind you and collect it later. Wear long spikes.
All of the races will start fast and settle down very quickly. Don't let the fast start bother you. Remember to leave some running for the 2nd half of the race!
Follow your normal pre-race routine. No changes.
Stay calm and stay positive. All the work is done. You may be running against the best athletes in the country but remember this: you are one of them. Say it loud: I AM ONE OF THE BEST ATHLETES IN THE COUNTRY!

Athletes from all corners of the County descended upon Kilmore on Thursday evening for the final round of our annual Winter League. There was plenty at stake in all of the age categories with the smallest of margins separating athletes across the board. The course was mucky in places after the heavy rain two days before making conditions underfoot in places difficult. The races provided great entertainment with some exciting finishes. Refreshments were served afterwards in Kilmore GAA Centre, along with prize giving. Thanks to all our fantastic volunteers, athletes and parents for making the league a success. See you all in 2019!
