Striders boys resume their winning ways

The Leinster Juvenile Relay, Intermediate and Master Cross Country Championships took place in Dunboyne last Sunday. As happened on so many occasions in 2017 it was the boys of United Striders AC who most impressed. The U14 team of Eoin Shannon, Cosmo Hewlett, Myles Hewlett and Finbar Kelly were utterly impressive in the manner in which they added another Leinster title to their already impressive collection.

The county was well represented in the Masters Men’s race with Jim Stafford (Slaney Olympic) taking the M55 title, Ted Flannelly (USAC) 3rd in M50, Ger Moloney (St Paul’s AC) 3rd M55 and John McGrath (USAC) 4th in M45. Other placings: Alan O’Connor (USAC) 8th M40, Joe Lillis (SBR) 19th in the competitive M35, Pat O’Callaghan (USAC) 7th in M50. The Co Wexford team took the M50 team title with Striders taking club Silver in the same age category. The Co Wexford Masters team placed 4th overall.
